SOME SOCIAL RULES THAT MAY HELP YOU:
- Don’t call someone more than twice continuously. If they don’t pick up your call, presume they have something important to attend to;
- Return money that you have borrowed even before the person that borrowed you remember or ask for it. It shows your integrity and character. Same goes with umbrellas, pens and lunch boxes.
- Never order the expensive dish on the menu when someone is giving you a lunch/dinner.
当有人请你吃午餐/晚餐时,切勿点菜单上昂贵的菜肴。 - Don’t ask awkward questions like ‘Oh so you aren’t married yet?’ Or ‘Don’t you have kids’ or ‘Why didn’t you buy a house?’ Or why don't you buy a car? For God’s sake it isn’t your problem;
不要问一些尴尬的问题,比如“哦,那么你还没结婚吗?”或者“你没有孩子吗?”或者“你为什么不买房子?”或者你为什么不买一辆车?看在上帝的份上,这不是你的问题;这是你的问题。 - Always open the door for the person coming behind you. It doesn’t matter if it is a guy or a girl, senior or junior. You don’t grow small by treating someone well in public;
始终为身后的人开门。无论是男孩还是女孩,无论是高年级还是低年级,都没关系。在公共场合善待某人并不会让你变得渺小。 - If you take a taxi with a friend and he/she pays now, try paying next time;
如果你和朋友一起打车,他/她现在付了钱,下次再尝试付钱。 - Respect different shades of opinions. Remember what's 6 to you will appear 9 to someone facing you. Besides, second opinion is good for an alternative;
尊重不同意见。记住,对你来说是 6 的东西,在面对你的人看来就是 9。此外,第二意见也是一种不错的选择。 - Never interrupt people talking. Allow them to pour it out. As they say, hear them all and filter them all;
永远不要打断别人的谈话。让他们把它倒出来。正如他们所说,倾听所有并过滤它们。 - If you tease someone, and they don’t seem to enjoy it, stop it and never do it again. It encourages one to do more and it shows how appreciative you're;
- Say “thank you” when someone is helping you.
当有人帮助你时说“谢谢”。 - Praise publicly. Criticize privately;
公开表扬。私下批评。 - There’s almost never a reason to comment on someone’s weight. Just say, “You look fantastic.” If they want to talk about losing weight, they will;
几乎没有理由评论某人的体重。只需说:“你看起来棒极了。”如果他们想谈论减肥,他们会的。 - When someone shows you a photo on their phone, don’t swipe left or right. You never know what’s next;
当有人给你看手机上的照片时,不要向左或向右滑动。你永远不知道接下来会发生什么。 - If a colleague tells you they have a doctors' appointment, don’t ask what it’s for, just say "I hope you’re okay". Don’t put them in the uncomfortable position of having to tell you their personal illness. If they want you to know, they'll do so without your inquisitiveness;
如果同事告诉你他们有医生约会时,不要问目的,只说“我希望你没事”。不要让他们处于不得不告诉你他们个人病情的不舒服的境地。如果他们想让你知道,他们会在你不好奇的情况下这样做。 - Treat the cleaner with the same respect as the CEO. Nobody is impressed at how rude you can treat someone below you but people will notice if you treat them with respect;
像对待首席执行官一样尊重清洁工。没有人会对你如何粗鲁地对待比你低下的人印象深刻,但如果你尊重他们,人们就会注意到。 - If a person is speaking directly to you, staring at your phone is rude;
如果一个人直接对你说话,盯着你的手机是不礼貌的。 - Never give advice until you’re asked;
除非有人问你,否则不要给出建议。 - When meeting someone after a long time, unless they want to talk about it, don’t ask them their age and salary;
久别重逢时,除非对方想谈论此事,否则不要问对方的年龄和薪水。 - Mind your business unless anything involves you directly - just stay out of it;
管好你的事,除非有什么事与你有直接关系——不要插手。 - Remove your sunglasses if you are talking to anyone in the street. It is a sign of respect. Moreso, eye contact is as important as your speech;
- Never talk about your riches in the midst of the poor. Similarly, don't talk about your children in the midst of the barren.
22.After reading a good message try to say "Thanks for the message".
